I sold CDs of my original music out of the trunk of my car. I organized benefit concerts, launched clothing drives, and rallied my local community. Seeing kids walk nearly five miles to the next town just to go to school, I partnered with the exact same missionary who had rescued me to start a school in our Haitian village. That’s me performing at my high school talent show. Coming to America as a Haitian immigrant, I actually used music to master English and navigate a whole new culture. Despite having zero musical background, I found the courage to step up to the mic and pursue a career as a Hip-hop and Pop-rap artist. My mission from day one has been to connect with people, spark real change, and bridge the gap between great music and humanitarian impact.

During my freshman year at Anderson University, I founded Beyond Me. The vision was simple but heavy: unite artists to bridge the gap between music and humanitarianism. I wanted to use my art as a powerful tool to promote positive social change and actually alleviate human suffering, not just sing about it.
When I set out to fund the Live Beyond You movement, I had no major corporate donors. Just a lonely basement and a dream. But I knew the mission deserved world-class art. I locked myself in that basement for months on end. It took me four years to put these songs together. No AI. No shortcuts. From that basement, I developed what we now call the Social Impact Music Model—the framework behind the Live Beyond You Service Challenge. I decided my music had to carry a purpose beyond the melody. Who is Watson Tunez?
Watson Tunez (born Watson George) is a Haitian-born, Indianapolis-based recording artist, entrepreneur, and humanitarian. His journey is defined by a relentless refusal to let his dreams die, moving from a "dirty basement" to the professional stage.
A Story of Resilience: Rescued by a missionary at age six and adopted by American parents, Watson returned to Haiti at age 18 following the devastating 2010 earthquake. Standing in the rubble, he discovered a calling to use music not just for entertainment, but as a bridge to heal and help others.
